What can I expect from a session?

Each session is not the same, obviously, everyone is going through the different paths of life. Like some people require Psychotherapeutic Counseling or Individual Psychotherapy or some other form of therapy.  So, your session will always be designed to be what the clinician feels is best for you. If you have goals or a desire for a session, please communicate that.

Otherwise, the therapist will open a discussion conducive to addressing the concerns you’ve presented.

Is it always hard?

Great question. Therapy can be difficult, and working on yourself is often painful, but we will always do what we can to make it beneficial and productive for you.
Your session is also about you. If there’s something you want or need, please communicate that.

How much does therapy cost?

Sessions start at $75 and go up from there.
Your insurance may cover all or part of the cost of therapy. Please visit our services page for more information.

How long are sessions?

All the individual sessions like individual psychotherapy, individual therapy etc. typically last 50 -60 minutes. Initial sessions are 90 minutes.

WHat happens if I need to cancel a session?

We understand things happen. If you need to cancel, please provide at least 24 hours notice. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, there is a $25 fee.
Kevin is licensed to provide tele-mental health, meaning your session may be able to be conducted over secure phone call or secure video conferencing. Please contact us if you are interested in this service.

Can you prescribe medications for me?

No, I am not a medical doctor. If I feel you may benefit from medications, I have a network of professionals I work with and can refer you to, and you can often see your primary care physician for medication.
Therapy often reduces or negates the need for medication - we work to give you tools to handle what life throws at you.

Do you take insurance?

Kevin accepts Blue Cross, Ambetter, QualChoice, and United Health Care. For all others, we can provide you with an invoice/receipt you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
